When I traveled to Cairo Egypt in 2010, the men were really nasty. I had to tell my your guide to get a guy away from me. I was with a large tour group (EF Tours). We went as educators and some high school students.. it was a mixed group over the US., so I wasn’t even solo. The guy kept doing the finger in the hole gesture with me. I wanted to regurgitate it was so offensive. Also while touring the pyramids they were calling me Shakira..I just started not to even look at anyone. It was happening to me and another teacher. Sorry that happened to you. Thought it would have gotten better. Too many men haggling with me. Felt really weird. Pyramids was absolutely beautiful, engaging, and very educational experience.

We get exposure to ancestors who excelled in our field and subliminally make us fight when we felt like giving up. We wouldn't get that in a white college. THIS IS THE ADVANTAGE of black professors.
